“The White Shirt: A Complex Basic” is inspired by Keith Haring’s Bill T Jones body painting series from 1983. Using a wide tip felt pen, I drew a pattern onto a pair of white pants and the collar of a white shirt. Using a fine tip pen, I created the same pattern onto a piece of paper and used it for the background to create an image where the subject and her surroundings become one.
